The Oracle of Aotearoa Speaks
“Hush not a sound, let the stillness speak
bring a receptive mind to the answers you seek.
Movements are subtle, keep the mind watchful and clear
Things may not really be as they first appear.
Distraction and agitation dissipate one’s inner force
Obstacles may arise but remain on course.
Control the mind and focus the will
Apply targeted action with timing and skill.”

Tides of Power
The tides of power pause momentarily and an air of stillness prevails. This week is a time of transition and personal inner adjustment as the energy of the new year starts to shift and change momentum. This is an important time to be receptive to the subtle changes and quieten the mind in order to perceive what changes need to happen for you personally in your own life. Bring a sense of mindfulness to your actions and apply careful attention to your day. This is also a powerful time to re-affirm and re-establish any plans and goals you have in mind and to make any initial preparations that are necessary.
Remember to maintain a sense of balance in your thoughts and actions this week. A certain amount of restraint may be called for in a number of areas, so use this as an opportunity to further develop your skills of patience and self-control.
Focus and concentrate
On Thursday 11th January Mercury, the planet of the mind and communication moves into the zodiacal sign of Capricorn. Mercury in Capricorn brings a more sobering and methodical mental approach to the tasks you have at hand, making it is easier to focus and concentrate. It is particularly useful for getting any background tasks or jobs finished and out of the way before any new projects get started. Venus, the planet of relationship, makes favourable aspects to a number of planets early this week bringing positive energy and greater clarity to what you want and don’t want in your relationships.
